Urbanization is the key trend in the spurring growth of the out-of-home (OOH) advertising market. More than half of the world's population now resides in cities and urban locations. It’s predicted that by the year 2050, the urban population will represent about two-thirds of the global population. The world is becoming increasingly mobile with people spending a greater proportion of their time outside their homes at locations like airports, railway stations, streets, and malls. Over the years, the average time for commuting between home and workplace has increased considerably. The combined trends of urbanization and mobility fuel demand in the OOH advertising market. Digital systems are replacing traditional static billboards and posters in this global market. According to a Global Strategic Business Report, this market is projected to reach $50.7 billion by 2020. The challenge is to provide heavy duty, eye catching displays that would work even in space constrained locations with an optimized TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
The Advantech DSD-5000 (High Brightness Stretched Display series) and DSD-7000 [Full HD Signage Display with Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) series] are designed specifically for 24/7 digital signage applications, featuring high brightness while boasting low heat/power requirements for operation. These large-format, professional displays are not only attractive, but rugged enough to withstand the constant interaction expected in public access venues. Built with industrial-grade components, these displays ensure the highest standards of reliability.
The DSD-5000 series comes in 28 and 38 inches, and with high brightnesses of 700 nits and 800 nits respectively. High brightness and a 3000:1 contrast ratio enable the DSD-5000 series to provide brilliant, crystal clear images in public viewing spaces. Their ultra wide aspect ratios (16:3 for 28” and 16:4.5 for 38”) also qualify them to fit in any public areas with limited space, such as stretched banner ad areas on buses, metros, elevators, lobbies and other similar locations. This series’ design features a metal enclosure, thus making it more rugged compared to conventional enclosures intended for intensive usage. Its fanless design also prevents dust particles to be pulled inside the display in high traffic areas, thereby ensuring a longer product life cycle.
With a slot-in-display OPS design, the DSD-7000 series makes integrating with Advantech’s ARK‐DS series media players easy and simple. This design concept minimizes cabling, saves space, and effectively lowers deployment and field maintenance costs as an all-in-one solution consisting of individually serviceable parts. Combined with SUSIAccess, an Advantech proprietary system monitoring software, the DSD-7000 series’ digital signage combo provides a total solution with seamless performance. The DSD-7000 series comes with multiple inputs and outputs with daisy chain capability for video wall applications. It also includes easy to use identification programming capabilities through OSD control, which allows remote content monitoring in multiple-display settings.
Advantech's digital signage display series provides excellent visual performance in a wide variety of applications and settings. It can be used as an information/advertisement display in mass transit, stores, bars, casinos and elevators–just about anywhere digital signage is required.
